Rally GB: Latvala in the lead at midday

The candidates for the title of vice-World Champion are well present in Great Britain: Jari-Matti Latvala (Ford Focus WRC), Petter Solberg (Citroën C4 WRC) and Sébastien Ogier (Citroën C4 WRC) are held within seven seconds after the three stages of the first loop of the weekend.

Jari-Matti Latvala, third in the championship and who is aiming for second place from Sébastien Ogier, is therefore in an ideal position. But the Finn lost time in SS3 by going through a puddle. “ The engine took on water, he explained. After that, there was a climb and we lost time because the engine was no longer pushing. It is now restored but it took 500 meters to recover. »

Following this setback, Latvala handed over control to Sébastien Loeb (Citroën C4 WRC) at the end of SS3, before setting the best time in SS4 and repositioning themselves at the front. It is therefore under the best auspices that this Rally of Great Britain, dominated by the 2010 World Champion and the three drivers wishing to finish in the runner-up position.
