Rally GB: Loeb very well placed

The duel is far from over between Sébastien Loeb and Mikko Hirvonen, even if the Frenchman has a thirty-second lead over the Finn before the last day of competition of the season. If the five-time world champion has a comfortable lead, a bad move has never happened. Mikko Hirvonen, who lost more than twenty seconds in the morning without knowing why, was the first witness.

Even if the reasons for the failure of the leader of the WRC in the morning are still unknown, Sébastien Loeb was able to see his lead increase considerably. While the two men had always been within less than ten seconds, the gap even falling to less than three seconds after the first special this Saturday, the poor performance of Mikko Hirvonen in SS8 and SS9 gave ?air to Sébastien Loeb.

In the afternoon, after a first special where Mikko Hirvonen was faster, the Frenchman was able to consolidate his lead by setting the best time in SS11 and SS12. With only four stages remaining on Sunday, the five-time world champion is in an ideal situation. His lead allows him to not need to take any risks, while Mikko Hirvonen will have to attack constantly if he wants to hope to win his first World Rally Champion title.
