Ypres, a rite. Created in 1965, this rally became, in the 1970s, one of the Belgian, then European, references. To be convinced, just look at the list of winners: Walter Röhrl (1976), Bernard Darniche (1977), Tony Pond (1978 and 1980), Bernard Béguin (1979), Jean-Claude Andruet (1981), Miki Biasion ( 1983), Henri Toivonen (1984), Jean Ragnotti (1985), Jimmy McRae (1987) overcame this atypical course where the Belgians subsequently regained control.
