Rally – Romain Dumas develops the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 RGT

Romain Dumas se prépare à relever un nouveau défi avec sa structure éponyme RD Limited. Le pilote officiel est en train de mettre au point depuis le mois dernier une nouvelle voiture de course basée sur la 911 GT3 RS 4.0, limitée à la vente à seulement 600 exemplaires, en la développant pour la catégorie RGT. Ce nouveau modèle de compétition sera la première Porsche à être inscrite dans cette classe. La boîte de vitesses est de type séquentielle à six rapports, tandis que la puissance du flat 6 dépendra des brides de la FIA. Matter a été sollicité pour installer l’arceau de sécurité. PKM Consulting a également été appelé pour les recherches sur la liaison au sol. De nombreux éléments tels que le splitter, les extensions d’ailes ou l’entrée d’air seront conçus en interne.

“RD Limited is booming and putting a Porsche on track that meets RGT regulations is the logical next step in our development”, comments the winner of the last edition of Pikes Peak. “Through FIA regulations, we will be able to explore new horizons, whether in Europe or globally. It?s terribly exciting! The RGT category has been in the back of my mind for a while and it is now time for this project to come to fruition based on this magnificent Porsche 911 RS 4.0. This model will therefore be entered into competition for the very first time! Through RD Limited and the RD Rally Team, we are now able to race Porsches in all categories, whether with me at the wheel but also with drivers such as Vincent Beltoise at Pikes Peak or Germain Bonnefis at the Rallye du Rouergue, without forgetting the VHC and the hill climbs. »

Romain Dumas intends to put the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 RGT in the spotlight since he plans to participate in the Rallye de France-Alsace (from October 3 to 5) and the Tour de Corse (from November 6 to 8) , season finale ofERC, with this new model in competition. “After two participations in WRC and a top ten, I can't wait to return to the Rallye de France, but with a Porsche this time! », adds Romain Dumas. “It will be a great first and I like this pioneering aspect. It is difficult to set a precise objective in terms of the result since it will be a full-scale test. We want to live up to the event and perform flawlessly.
