Robert Kubica titled in style in WRC2

Will Robert Kubica defend the colors of Citroën Racing at the highest level in 2014? The Pole is in any case part of the list of contenders for Yves Matton, the director of the Reds. We can understand the Belgian to the extent that the former pilot of F1 created a surprise by dominating the WRC2 field with no less than 5 victories and a 2nd place taken for his debut in the DS3 RRC. The Citroën driver distinguished himself by dominating the category this weekend in Spain where he finished more than 5 minutes ahead of Yazeed Al-Rajhi, securing the title with 144 points won out of the 150 in his reach.

“You might think that this result was achieved with ease, but I can assure you that it was difficult from start to finish! », assures Robert Kubica ?When I started in Portugal, it was my first rally on earth and I had to find the answers to the hundreds of questions I asked myself. Then, each event was totally different from the previous ones, including on asphalt. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this success, starting with Citroën Racing, PH Sport and my partner Lotos, without whom I would not be here today. »

Robert Kubica can now concentrate on the final event of the season WRC with Wales Rally GB contested from November 14 to 17. The Pole will drive Khalid Al Qassimi's Citroën DS3 WRC for the first time. “In fact, I didn't really celebrate my victory at the 2008 Canadian Grand Prix, so don't expect any big demonstrations from me! If people are happy because I performed well, then I'm happy for them! I will especially remember the way I improved, how I progressed on the ground despite the limitations of my arm? I still have a lot of work ahead to be completely satisfied, because I am very demanding of myself. »
