Le Rally of Sweden (February 9-12) will it be the scene of the first victory in 2023 for the reigning world champion? Defeated at Monte-Carlo by Sébastien Ogier against whom he could not really compete since he swept the road, Kalle Rovanperä could take advantage of the Frenchman's absence in Scandinavia to sign his first victory since last October in New Zealand.
On snowy roads that he knows very well and where he won last year, the Finn hopes that the pace shown in Monte-Carlo will allow him to return to success. However, Kalle Rovanperä is aware that his position as opener will not be an advantage but on snow anything can happen and he intends to take advantage of it.
Flat-out on snow and ice! 🚀❄️

« It was great to start the season well in Monte-Carlo with a good feeling and with good points for the championship, notes the Toyota driver. We hope to continue the same way in Sweden and enjoy the rally. We only have one event like this every year and it's always cool to have the studded tires on the car and pushing hard between the snow banks. It's something special.
We got a good result in Sweden last year and we will try to repeat it this time. It can be tricky to open the road in snow and it depends a lot on the conditions. Our preparation tests went very well, with perfect conditions and a thick layer of ice on the road. Let's hope it will be the same for the rally and that we won't suffer too much from being the first on the road on Friday."
