Rovanperä present, three M-sport… The Safari entry list is revealed

The Safari Rally is preparing to welcome the WRC for the fourth time in a row. Usually contested in June, the Kenyan event has been brought forward by a few months and will now take place at the end of March (March 28-31).

On the horizon, this is the only major change regarding the Rally of Kenya, from an organizational point of view. On the manufacturers' side, Toyota will not be able to rely on its winner from the last edition Sébastien Ogier. Still in his role as a freelancer, the Gapençais will once again give way to Kalle Rovanperä, who has also been on a partial program this season. Elfyn Evans and Takamoto Katsuta, the current starters, complete the Japanese contingent.

Winner in Sweden in February for his first appearance of the year, Esapekka Lappi once again received the confidence of Hyundai who decided to keep it for a second rally in a row. In the tough for his return to the South Korean firm, Ott Tänak will try to restart. Finally, Thierry Neuville will want to extend the good momentum he who won the Monte-Carlo at the start of the season and who leads the championship.

In addition to those ofAdrien fourmaux and Grégoire Munster, there will be a third Ford Puma on the Safari side. Gentleman driver Jourdan Serderidis has decided to make the trip to Kenya for his first Rally1 outing in 2024.
