Rovanperä selected for Pirelli testing in Croatia

Exclusive supplier of WRC Since 2021, Pirelli has continued to develop its tire range to meet the needs of teams and drivers. Authorized to carry out three three-day test sessions per year with one of the three manufacturers, in the order drawn by the FIA, the Italian manufacturer will begin its program this week with Kalle Rovanperä.

Leader du championnat du monde et représentant sélectionné par Toyota, le Finlandais, déjà présent en Croatie puisque le constructeur japonais y menait ses essais privés en vue du rally at the end of April, will collaborate with Pirelli for three days. Starting this Thursday, Kalle Rovanperä will have the opportunity to get to work and try the new hard rubber designed for asphalt by the trans firmalpine.

« The objective of the tests in Croatia is to check how to evolve the hard tire according to the development of new hybrid cars, explains Terenzio Testoni, responsible for rally activities for Pirelli. They are heavier and more powerful than the previous generation, and therefore potentially impose more stress on the tires."

On the carpet from the first special of the Croatian Rally last year, Kalle Rovanperä should use this test session to familiarize himself with the Croatian asphalt, scene of the next round of the WRC (April 21-24), and thus gain experience.
