Sanctioned, Sordo loses lead of Monza Rally

Rebound during the 2020 final of the WRC in Italy. Dani Sordo received a 10-second penalty on Friday evening for cutting a chicane in the last special of the day at Rally from Monza.

Le compte-rendu des commissaires indique que le pilote de la Hyundai i20 « did not follow the instructions in the roadbook » in the chicane located 2,05 km after the start.

The decision states that “ the driver of car #6 locked the wheels approaching the chicane in an attempt to stop, was disturbed by the fact that the chicane differed from that of a previous stage. Not seeing a bale of straw in front of him, he continued straight on. »
