The shakedown of Rally from Sardinia had several surprises in store.
This is despite Sébastien Ogier who set the best time by completing the 9,92km of Olmedo in 3'00''0 with 9 tenths ahead of Ott Tänak (Toyota).
Thierry Neuville completed the top three ahead of Teemu Suninen (M-Sport), Kris Meeke (Toyota) and Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) all tied. Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) follows in 7th place ahead of Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) and Juho Hänninen (Toyota) who was the most diligent with 4 passages. Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) completed the Top 10 ahead of Dani Sordo (Hyundai).
It was Kalle Rovanperä (Skoda) who was the most efficient among the WRC 2, beating the Citroën C4 R3 of Mads Ostberg by 5 tenths.
