Sébastien Loeb advantaged by his position?

Sébastien Loeb was often slowed down by his position as an opener on the road. But the Championship leader, who will face Mikko Hirvonen this weekend for the Drivers' title, could be at an advantage by opening the course of the first stage, the latest rains having made the surface muddy as is customary in this event . The seven-time world champion specifies that he will not follow his pace on that of the Flying Finn.

“If it rains before the start, my opening position could cause more mud for the following cars”, explains the Citroën driver. “It can become an advantage, but it should normally be the same for all crews. It’s a good thing to start the last round of the Championship this way. I'm not going to keep up with Mikko's pace and I hope my speed will be enough to beat him. »

The start of Wales Rally GB will be given at 15:38 p.m. with the Greta Orme super special (4,74km), which will be covered twice before the Clocaenog route (15,77km) which will conclude this first stage of an event which will include exceptionally four.
