Sébastien Loeb dominates the Monte-Carlo shakedown

On the 3,52 km of the shakedown of Rally Monte Carlo, Sébastien Loeb placed his Citroën DS3 WRC at the forefront. On a wet road, the nine-time world champion and seven-time winner in the Principality achieved a best time of 2'21" during his first pass. “It's not a bad way to return to the WRC, says Loeb. I immediately felt comfortable in the car, but it won't be an easy rally. The weather forecast seems tricky and so my distant position in the starting order could be an advantage or a disadvantage. »

The Alsatian is followed by his teammate Kris Meeke, who finishes 0″4 behind for a Citroën double. The trifecta of this shakedown is completed by the reigning double world champion Sébastien Ogier, who places his Volkswagen Polo R version 2015 1″1 behind Loeb, and who only made three passes. Andreas Mikkelsen (Volkswagen) and Robert Kubica (Ford) complete the top 5, ahead of Elfyn Evans (Ford), Mads Ostberg (Citroën), Sébastien Chardonnet (Citroën) and both Hyundai i20 Thierry Neuville and Dani Sordo. Jari-Matti Latvala (Volkswagen) takes eleventh place, Bryan Bouffier (Ford) is 15th. The shakedown is not yet over for non-priority drivers.

Tomorrow, the first ES will start at 20:21 p.m. and the stage will be followed live on our website. Photos of the shakedown can be viewed here.
