Sébastien Loeb: “I felt better in the car”

It is on Andalusian soil that Sébastien Loeb found the Citroën C3 WRC last week. The nine-time world champion sat in the seat of the herringbone car he will drive for his return to competition in the World Championship from March 8 to 11 in Mexico, for preparation tests.

Following the run of Kris Meeke, Citroën's regular driver in 2018, the Alsatian was able to refine his understanding of the new generation WRC, already tested last year both on asphalt and on gravel.

The overall feeling of the former rally master is going in the right direction, with ease of driving highlighted. Kris Meeke had notably described the C3 like sometimes nervous in 2017.

« I felt better in the car in this test compared to the previous time, Loeb analysis on the WRC website. The evolution of the suspension and geometry gave me more confidence, and that's something I needed.

I tried several things the engineer suggested, and in the end the car wasn't much different from the setup other drivers are using. I made some small adjustments to the differentials and the suspension but for the rest I tried to adapt to the car. »

The Frenchman must contest a mini-program of three rallies this year in Mexico, Corsica and Catalonia, instead of Craig Breen in the second C3 entered by Citroën Racing. The pilot Peugeot en Rallycross, will also compete in the World RX in the 208 WRX.
