Sébastien Loeb went to the head of the Rally of Sardinia at the end of the last special of the morning where the Frenchman scored his first scratch. The Citroën driver has a lead of 2??7 over Mikko Hirvonen (Ford) and 11??9 over an astonishing Evgeny Novikov (Ford).
Petter Solberg was on the attack at the start of the event. The Norwegian was in the lead at the end of the first special, but a mechanical problem caused him to fall to 10th place. The private driver of the DS3 WRC nevertheless managed to move up to 6th place after the last special of the morning.
Kris Meeke (Mini WRC) was in 4th place until the Briton stopped on SS3. His teammate Dani Sordo is currently 7th, 19?2 behind Petter Solberg.
