Sébastien Loeb gets closer

Sébastien Loeb (Citroen C4 WRC) seems to be at ease on the roads of Rally from Mexico. Second on the road on Friday, the Frenchman suffered little from the sweep, ranking third in the general classification at the end of SS9.

Starting in third position in SS10, the six-time World Champion took advantage of the time lost by the first two in the general classification, Petter Solberg and Sébastien Ogier, who must “wipe” the Mexican dirt roads in front of the Alsatian.

The record holder for WRC victories took the opportunity to score his first scratch of the weekend, moving up to second place in the general classification by overtaking Sébastien Ogier.

« I attacked really hard, says Loeb. We are in a good position to be able to do that. The first suffers a lot from scanning, the second a little less and the third is good. So I can attack well. »

On the other hand, all is not happy for the Citroën clan since Dani Sordo, victim of a ruptured wishbone, was arrested in the special. Ken Block and Matthew Wilson (both Ford Focus WRC) experienced the same mechanical problem during this first timed section of the day.

Sébastien Ogier (Citroën C4 WRC), now third in the Rally Mexico, is not unhappy with his second position on the road, even if he recognizes that his mission is now more difficult. “ A good stage for us, but it?s true that it?s very slippery.
