Sébastien Loeb towards a second try with Citroën

For its first tests with the C3 2017 in Moselle, Sébastien Loeb associated with Daniel Elena gave valuable information to the French team with whom he won his nine world rally championship titles.

« What he did this morning was quite interesting and helped us a lot, explains Yves Matton, Team Principal of Citroën Racing, especially if we have rain in Germany since we lack information on this side after the tests we have done. »

After these conclusive tests, Citroën once again wishes to use the services of the pilot Peugeot in WorldRX for testing on land.

« For the moment nothing has been decided but I think it would be interesting to have him for a session on land. We'll see if it's possible. He is very busy with his program rallycross and rally-raid. »

If some see these tests as the beginnings of a return for the Frenchman to the world championship, Yves Matton prefers to remain cautious and refutes the possibility of an entry during the last four rallies of 2017. However, he leaves the door open to a return in the years to come.

« There is no chance of him rallying this season. I think we'll have to see his plans first. I think the only possible next step is a test on land."
