Sébastien Ogier injured in testing before Monte-Carlo

They tested everything, even the barrels. Ten days before the start of the Rally Monte-Carlo, opening round of the World Championship, Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia spend the week around Monaco to test the new version of the Toyota Yaris WRC.

On Wednesday morning, the curious who came to watch this full-scale rehearsal on the steep roads of France were surprised to see the car violently leave the track and completely overturn at the bend of a bend. The spectacular crash caused significant damage to the car, particularly at the front.

If Sébastien Ogier escaped without problems, Julien Ingrassia was taken to hospital as a precaution but did not suffer serious injuries. The co-pilot also took the story with humor. “Okay, we cut down a few trees, sorry about that” commented Ingrassia. “I'm going to walk like a zombie for a few days. But there is no doubt, I will be at the start of Monte-Carlo next week! »

The rally is scheduled to start next Thursday.
