Sébastien Ogier at the helm in Türkiye

The prospect of a Citroën Racing double at the end of this Rally of Türkiye strengthens this Saturday afternoon. The two C3s WRC de Sébastien Ogier and Esapekka Lappi still leading the race but in a different order from this morning.

The fault was a small error from Lappi in SS12 when approaching a downhill left-hand hairpin. Enough to leave control of the race to the French world champion, who resisted the Finn until the end in the final sector to have a small tenths lead in the general classification.

Ogier notably built his return to the front with a daring choice of tires this morning (three medium, three hard), and the best times in both passages of the long 33 km ES.

The Finn, who also saw his Ford Fiesta suffer on the Turkish terrain, came back to 9″8 behind Mikkelsen in the last special and can still believe in the podium.

Thierry Neuville (Hyundai), left the road this morning, and Pontus Tidemand (M-Sport Ford) complete the WRC rankings at 4'38" and 6'55".

Gus Greensmith (Ford Fiesta R5) remains leader of WRC 2 Pro ahead of Jan Kopecky (Skoda Fabia R5 Evo), while Kajetan Kajetanowicz (Skoda Fabia R5) remains leader in WRC 2.

Forced to retire between SS8 and SS9, continued to electronic control unit failure, Ott Tänak (Toyota) should return to action tomorrow to aim for points in the Power Stage.

The final day of the Rally Turkey will begin tomorrow at 8:38 a.m., and can be followed live and in full via our live-text.
