With the rallies of Finland, Spain and Monza still to be contested and 90 points to be distributed (three full victories rewarded with the best time during the Power Stage), five drivers can still claim the world crown: Sébastien Ogier, Elfyn Evans, Thierry Neuville, Kalle Rovanperä and Ott Tänak. But only one can win it this weekend on Finnish soil: Sébastien Ogier.

Leading since Rally from Croatia last April, the seven-time world champion is more than ever in the running to win an 8th career world title. If there are still three rounds remaining, the Tricolore are in fact for the first time this season in a position to be crowned according to the results of the Rally Finland.

Take out the calculators

Leader of the ranking with 44 points ahead of Elfyn Evans, his closest pursuer, Sébastien Ogier must count 60 more than his runner-up and Thierry Neuville as well as 61 over Kalle Rovanperä and Ott Tänak at the end of his Finnish escapade for not to be taken back by the end of the campaign. To do this, he will have to take 16 points from Evans, 10 from Neuville and 9 from Rovanperä while not dropping more than 13 on Ott Tänak, currently 5th, 74 lengths behind the driver. Toyota.

On the side of the Manufacturers, Hyundai seems to have given up on Toyota. Andrea Adamo's men are 57 points behind those of Jari-Matti Latvala and have only won 2 victories against 7 for their opponents. In the event of an i20 abandonment and a one-two finish for the Yaris (1st and 2nd overall and in the Power Stage for a total of 52 points scored), the South Korean manufacturer could be left behind by 109 units at the end of the Rally of Finland and thus say goodbye to the hopes of the coronation. So many scenarios that seem unlikely at the moment. Let the race determine the future champions.
