Sébastien Ogier temporarily loses the Power Stage points

Winner of Rally Mexico yesterday behind the wheel of his Ford Fiesta WRC - M-Sport Ford, Sébastien Ogier had also won the four bonus points of the Power Stage by taking second place in the final sector of the event.

But shortly after the finish, the commissioners imposed a ten second penalty to the reigning world champion for not having bypassed the elements arranged to create a chicane in the Power Stage.

Was notably heard on the subject by the commissioners Malcolm Wilson, Team Principal of M-Sport Ford and the images and videos of the passage were studied. The No. 1 Ford Fiesta hit two of the three elements of the chicane.

M-Sport Ford has, however, confirmed its intention to appeal. Sébastien Ogier retains control of the championship with four points ahead Thierry Neuville (Hyundai).
