Sébastien Ogier ready for Monte-Carlo

French Sébastien Ogier will be one of the big favorites of the next Rally Monte Carlo (January 22-25). The brand new double world champion will have to face reinforced competition, notably by the return of Sébastien Loeb on a Citroën DS3, or even by Bryan Bouffier, second last year behind Ogier in his Ford Fiesta RS. A few days ago, the entire Volkswagen team worked in preparation for the opening round of the season. The pilots were able to familiarize themselves with the new steering wheel shift paddle system.

“I can now keep both hands on the steering wheel at all times, and the system now shifts faster. »
says Ogier. The other area of work concerned the tires, a primordial factor in Monte-Carlo. “These tests are mainly to find which type of tire is best for changing conditions. » continues Gerard Jan de Jongh, race engineer for the 31-year-old driver.

Find our exclusive test of the Volkswagen Polo R WRC, in issue 1992 of AUTOhebdo, which will remain available on newsstands until Tuesday January 6, and still downloadable in digital version.
