Sébastien Ogier, what do you feel after this 7e success in Mexico?

Alors que le rally has just ended, it's always a bit of a special moment. The race was so intense for three days that once the finish line was crossed, everything suddenly fell away, especially the fatigue that had accumulated during the week. I am personally very happy, also for the team.

Did you have a goal other than victory?

It was our only goal and we performed flawlessly. Our pace was excellent and we managed well when necessary. We even managed to take maximum points in the Power Stage. It's hard to ask for better.

You seemed to enjoy the battle with Esapekka Lappi!

The first day I knew that with my starting position I had the opportunity to be competitive. Esapekka was faster than us though. I then focused on having a good day. It was indeed very nice and I always like it when there are fights like that. I wanted this to continue against EP with whom I was teammates (at Citroën and Toyota. Editor's note) and which I appreciate, but a small mistake can have serious consequences. After that, another rally started for us, not really easy from the moment we had to control the gap, especially on Sunday which was the most difficult stage. I was more careful and I think we handled the situation very well.

Winning yourself in the Power Stage, was it premeditated?

I like this place. Starting last in Rally1 allows you to benefit from a small advantage. I told myself that by attacking, I would have a chance to score points. I didn't necessarily intend to take 5, but knowing that I will be at the start of Croatia, why not try to have a good position on the road in front of Kalle (Rovanperä) and Thierry (Neuville) ? I'm here for myself, but also to give maximum points to Toyota.
