Sébastien Ogier tested the Toyota Yaris and the Ford Fiesta

Sébastien Ogier had reaffirmed on the sidelines of the Rally from Australia wants to take charge of the cars potentially available for 2017 before making a decision about its future. Statement immediately followed by the facts this week with a first ride aboard the Toyota Yaris, developed by Tommi Mäkinen's structure.

“Sébastien tried the Yaris this Wednesday, a source close to the matter confirmed to us on condition of anonymity. He drove both on asphalt and dirt in Catalonia, so it was very short runs because it was on two different cars, in two different sites, each time with the need to install it in the passenger compartment.

He confirmed to us that the car was indeed born, especially on dirt. It highlighted the finishing work that we still need to do, on the engine, differentials and suspensions. On the asphalt, he found the car a little rougher but that was expected as it has only been testing on this surface for a short time. »

Jarmo Lehtinen, sporting director of Toyota Gazoo Racing, also confirmed to us that he is in discussions with several drivers for the second available seat, the Frenchman remaining the priority for training.

The four-time world champion, also in contact with M-Sport and Malcolm Wilson, tested the British team's Ford Fiesta RS in Wales today.
