Skoda announces developments for the Fabia Rally2

Soon approved for competition and in particular for Monte-Carlo (January 21-24, 2021), the Fabia Rally2 is evolving somewhat. This package includes new mapping for its 1.6 turbo engine. The coolers and the exhaust manifold have been revised.

In addition to being able to reach 15 km/h more (from 187 to 202 km/h), the Fabia's engine sees its maximum power increase to 214 KW, or 290 horsepower, thanks to modifications made to its electrical system.

As for comfort, the new ZF shock absorbers provide better traction and stability for the car on all types of surfaces, explains Skoda.

The Czech manufacturer has also improved the reliability and safety of the Fabia Rally2, notably by strengthening the rear axle but also eliminating fuel vaporization problems.

Initially approved for asphalt, the rear brake cooling system can now be used on gravel. To enhance the reliability of the Fabia Rally2, Skoda has equipped its engine with a new lubrication system.

Skoda confirms that customers will receive this package of improvements on January 4 in time for Monte-Carlo, the first meeting of the 2021 season.
