Solberg expects better

With honorable performances but below his expectations, Petter Solberg expects more from his Citroën Xsara. And in particular that it is more efficient when the temperature rises. As after the rally from Argentina, the 2003 world champion evokes a possible other solution, but recognizes that it is not in his priorities. “ Changing cars is an option and a Peugeot 307 is a possibility, especially since there are many opportunities for improvement. But I'm not sure I can do it. I don't have the money to buy the car. Maybe I could rent one or trade mine? My preference would be to keep my car but we need to improve the performance further. »

Petter Solberg actually experiences power problems when, as in Sardinia, the mercury rises to temperatures of 30 to 35°C. “ I want to understand the overheating problem we had. We need to know the causes because we lost too much time when the temperature rose. » Especially as summer approaches, the Norwegian must solve a problem which risks continuing in certain hot countries. “ Most of the rallies coming up are going to be very hot and if they can't find the cause of this loss of power as the temperature rises, I'm going to lose a lot - and I don't want to think about that. . » The next rally on the calendar WRC, in Greece from June 11, where the temperature should still be high, will provide an element of response to the world champion. To find out if he should still wait for an improvement on his Xsara or find another solution.
