Solberg celebrates his first podium in 2011

Petter Solberg showed a good pace on this rally since he only finished 12??6 behind Mikko Hirvonen (Ford) and 23??8 behind Sébastien Loeb (Citroen). After his retirement from the Jordan Rally, the DS3 driver WRC regains 13 points from Jari-Matti Latvala (Ford) in the Championship, the Finn having retired in the first special.

The Citroën private driver is happy with this podium, even if he could hope to do even better. “ This podium is of capital importance for my team, my partners and for me “, said the Norwegian. “ I have the feeling that I could have won this rally but we still had small problems which delayed us at the start of the race. This positive result will allow us to approach the next deadlines with confidence. »

Benoît Nogier, director of Citroën Racing Technologies, is also satisfied with the result of Petter Solberg who managed to get on the podium despite the difficulties encountered on his DS3 WRC. “ Seeing Petter Solberg on the podium is good for morale », comments Benoît Nogier. “ Despite a small technical problem at the start of the rally and a puncture, he managed to finish third. »
