Solberg looking forward to Monte-Carlo

Petter Solberg was uncertain for the 2012 season, the Citroën privateer having great difficulty raising enough budget. The Norwegian finally took advantage of Mikko Hirvonen's departure from the French manufacturer to land the second wheel available at Ford and take the place of Jari-Matti Latvala's teammate. The 2003 world champion, however, left the American manufacturer on bad terms by joining Subaru in 2001.

“I can’t tell you how happy I am.”, comments the new Ford driver on Autosport. « C’est une sensation incroyable d’être de retour avec Ford, là où tout a commencé (premiers rallyes mondiaux en 1998 avec Toyota). Les essais ont été un très bon début. Nous n’avons eu aucun problème, je n’attends plus qu’être au départ du Monte-Carlo. C’est un des plus grands rallyes de la discipline et le fait qu’il soit de retour au Championnat est très important pour nous. »
