Solberg could have a Ford WRC 08

Will we see Petter Solberg behind the wheel of a Ford Focus WRC d?ici la fin de la saison ? Le Norvégien, qui participe au Championnat du Monde des Rallyes au volant d?une Citroën Xsara en spécification 2006, prospecte en tout cas activement du côté de chez Ford. Le Norvégien a passé une journée en compagnie de Malcolm Wilson, vendredi dernier, à l?usine M-Sport qui se charge de l?engagement de Ford en WRC. Durant une matinée entière, les deux hommes ont ainsi discuté et Malcolm Wilson a proposé à Solberg de disposer d?une Ford Focus WRC 08 pour les deux dernières épreuves de la saison : le Rally of Catalonia and the Rally of Great Britain.

« We would definitely like to see him in a Ford and we will help him as much as possible », Explained Wilson on Autosport. “ We talked a lot and came up with what we think is the best plan. It is now up to him to know if it is financially possible and the direction he wants to take. » If he decided to take the plunge, Petter Solberg would then have a Ford Focus WRC 08 which he would however enter within his own structure.

For the moment, the Norwegian driver has not yet made a final decision and could also turn to Citroën after testing the C4 WRC last week near Narbonne.
