Solberg wants to beat the big teams

Until then, he had scored points at the end of the first four rounds of the season, and had even reached the podium three times consecutively, in Mexico, Jordan, then in Turkey. But in New Zealand, Petter Solberg, then third, was one of those who lost the rally during this famous final special, while victory was still within his reach.

“Our car has been repaired, says the 2003 world champion. We are now ready to face the Rally of Portugal. Being fifth on the road on the first day gives us a good starting position and we will try to make the most of it. We didn't finish as we wanted in New Zealand, but during the event we proved that we were capable of fighting against the big teams.

Second in 2007 and fourth in 2009, the Norwegian driver will do everything possible to get on the podium, and why not pocket his first victory since the 2005 Rally of Great Britain.
