Stéphane Lefebvre: “Increase the pace”

The last arrival of the World Rally Championship in Corsica in 2008 allowed Sébastien Loeb to bag his fourth island success at the wheel of the Citroën C4 WRC. A triumph not so distant, but which should be complicated to reproduce on a regular basis for the residents of the DS3 who will begin tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. the shakedown of the Tour de Corse 2015.

It is with more measured ambitions that Kris Meeke, Mads Ostberg and Stéphane Lefebvre will face the course of this 2015 edition. The latter will make his third outing at the wheel of the DS3, the second on asphalt after Germany during the summer.

?The objective is to confirm what we showed in Germany and Australia. You have to increase the pace and not do stupid things. I don't have the feeling of starting from scratch, because I already have my bearings in the car. However, the route is too different from Germany and, a fortiori, from Australia. At least I'm in the rhythm! » admits the 23-year-old pilot.

After replacing Mads Ostberg at short notice in Australia, victim of an accident during reconnaissance, Stéphane Lefebvre hopes to reach the top 10 or more. “I would like to place myself a little higher in the rankings. I know the pace will be very high, so it's up to me to get in tune. My ambition nevertheless remains to learn and find my feet to be competitive for entry if I have the chance to return next year. »
