After the Baltic roads of the Estonian valleys, it's time for the lakes and bumpy paths of Finland! THE WRC stops in the Jyväskylä region for the Rally of Finland (August 4-7, 2022), 8th event of the 2022 season. The Nordic country has hosted the World Rally Championship since its creation in 1973. The first edition of the rally even dates back to 1951, and only 6 non-Nordic pilots managed to win the event (Sainz, Auriol, Loeb x3, Ogier, Meeke and Evans).

On home soil, Kalle Rovanperä hopes to win his 6th victory of the season, he who dominates the championship with 83 points ahead of Thierry Neuville. The last Finn to win at home was Esapekka Lappi, in 2017. The Rally Finland, renowned for its extraordinary jumps, will be played out over 22 special stages, with a total length of 324 kilometers. While the 2021 route was reduced to just 287 kilometers, half of this year's route will be new compared to last year. Lankamaa's chrono, absent since 2017, will return for Friday. The rally will end with the legendary Ruuhmäki in the Power Stage.
