Takamoto Katsuta returns with Toyota from Estonia

Seen at Rally Monte-Carlo and in Sweden at the start of the year, the Japanese Takamoto katsuta sera de retour au sein de l’armada du Toyota Gazoo Racing à l’occasion de la reprise du Championnat du Monde des Rallyes WRC en Estonia (September 4-6).

The resident of the Japanese brand's WRC Challenge Program, who plays alongside the three leading drivers Sébastien Ogier, Elfyn Evans and Kalle Rovanperä, will also be lined up in Germany (October 15-18), Sardinia (October 29 – November 1) and the season finale at home in Japan (November 19-22). Only Turkey will be missing from its program.

« Estonia is a rally that should suit his experience and strengths, says Tommi Mäkinen, Toyota Team Principal. At the same time, this will be his first WRC event in several months, so we don't expect it to be easy.

We will give him some time in the Toyota Yaris WRC before then to help him get back into rhythm, which will be important for such a fast rally. »

Seventh in Monte-Carlo and ninth in Sweden, Katsuta will therefore have four rounds to try to bring back a convincing result before the end of the season.
