Tänak widens gap at Wales Rally GB

Ott Tänak (Toyota) increased his lead in the second pass of the second stage of Wales Rally GB. The Estonian returns to service with a lead of 11 seconds over his closest pursuer. It is now Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) who plays this role after the Belgian took over Sébastien Ogier (Citroen). The six-time champion is more than 6 seconds behind.

Kris Meeke (Toyota) sees the podium slip away, being more than 9 seconds behind the top three. Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) keeps the advantage over Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) for 4”5 in advance. The Welshman is still well ahead of his teammates Teemu Suninen and Pontus Tidemand. Craig Breen (Hyundai) remains 9th after deliberately clocking in late on the specials to advantage Thierry Neuville.

Kalle Rovanperä (Skoda) remains well established at the head of the WRC 2 Pro with several minutes ahead of his teammate Jan Kopecky by completing the Top 10 in the general classification. Petter Solberg (Volkswagen) took the lead in WRC 2 with a dozen seconds ahead of Pierre-Louis Loubet (Skoda).
