Tänak believes in his chances at Rally Argentina

Already a winner in Sweden this year, Ott Tänak will aim for another success next week at Rally from Argentina where he already won last year. The Estonian will have the advantage of starting in 3rd position in the first stage behind his opponents Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) and Sébastien Ogier (Citroen).

“I feel good before Argentina, confirms the Estonian. C’est sur cette épreuve que j’ai décroché ma première victoire avec Toyota l’an dernier et nous n’en attendons pas moins cette année. Nous devrions être encore le coup. Les routes rapides et le type de surface correspondent bien à notre voiture. C’est une manche difficile car les spéciales peuvent être très cassantes par endroits. Il faut redoubler de prudence par moments. »

Toyota is hoping to bounce back after its disappointment at the Tour de Corse, with the Japanese manufacturer in 3rd place, 4 points behind Citroën.

“We did not have the result we hoped for at the Tour de Corse, but confidence remains high before tackling the two rounds in South America (with Chile to follow), adds Tommi Mäkinen, Team Principal of Toyota Gazoo Racing. Argentina is a rally that our team knows well, especially our drivers. Ott was very strong here last year winning and I think he still has a good chance of succeeding. »
