Tänak immediately fastest at shakedown

The shakedown of Rally of Argentina 2019 took place in very difficult conditions this Thursday, April 25. On oily tracks due to violent showers, the drivers' first pass was decisive for the ranking of this training.

Estonian Ott Tänak (Toyota) achieved the best time. The winner of the last Rally Sweden beat the current leader of the World Rally Championship (WRC) Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) and Kris Meeke (Toyota) by seven tenths.

The six-time world champion Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) set the fourth fastest time at 1”2. The Frenchman is ahead of Teemu Suninen (M-Sport Ford); the latter is the only competitor in the field (with Gus Greensmith in WRC2) to have driven faster during his third pass.

In the WRC2 category, it is Mads ostberg (Citroën) who leads the way by 1”5 over Gus Greensmith.

The opening super-special will begin at 00:10 a.m. French time. The organizers are evaluating the possibility of competing in the Friday morning stages without any spectators due to the heavy rains in the Cordoba region.
