Tänak in the lead after the Shakedown

Before tackling the ten stages of the Arctic Rally, the competitors met for the Shakedown this Friday morning. And at the end of the three obligatory passages, and four for some, it is Ott Tänak who was the fastest.

The pilot Hyundai set the best time in this 5,69 kilometer Shakedown. He crossed the finish line with a time of 2'35"4. On the timesheet, the Estonian was ahead of his teammate Thierry Neuville, victim of an exit and forced to be rescued by the tow truck, and the pilot Toyota Takamoto Katsuta.

With a fourth time in 2’39”8, Pierre-Louis Loubet (2C Competition) took the 4th time just ahead of the other Hyundai driver Craig Breen.

Very calm during his morning outings, Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) was satisfied with the 9th time with a best time signed during his second pass (2’41“3).

In WRC2, no surprises. Andreas Mikkelsen (Skoda) climbed to the top of the rankings with a best time of 2’45”0. At the finish he was ahead of his compatriot Eyvind Brynildsen, also in a Fabia Rally2, and Georg Linnamäe (Volkswagen Polo).
