The Toyota étaient attendues de pied ferme au Rally of Finland and the drivers of the Japanese manufacturer are meeting expectations for the moment. The Yaris WRC won the 5 courses of the morning and are logically at the top of the ranking at the break.

Despite only one scratch and his position as opener, it is Ott Tänak who is in control with a little more than 5 seconds ahead of his teammates. Jari-Matti Latvala took second place from Kris Meeke by a few tenths on the last course, but the two teammates of the championship leader were slightly slowed down by a slow puncture.

The best of the rest is Esapekka Lappi (Citroën). The local driver is only one second behind the top three, ahead of Craig Breen qui se fait remarquer en étant le plus rapide des pilotes Hyundai. L’Irlandais précède d’une poignée de secondes Sébastien Ogier (Citroen).

Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) is in 7th place, ten seconds ahead of his teammate Thierry Neuville lacking rhythm on the first courses. The Belgian is only ahead of the Fords of Teemu Suninen and Gus Greensmith.

In WRC 2 Pro, Kalle Rovanperä (Skoda) mastered his subject with more than a minute ahead of Éric Camilli (Ford). Pierre-Louis Loubet (Skoda) is doing better in WRC 2, leading the category.
