Tänak keeps the lead in Sweden, Lappi joins Mikkelsen

Ott Tänak (Toyota) made no mistakes in the two super special stages concluding the second stage of the Rally from Sweden. The leader of the event even took the scratch on the Karlstad course and returned to service with a lead maintained at 54 seconds over his closest pursuers.

The fight for the podium, however, is in full swing since Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) finds himself in a perfect tie against Esapekka Lappi (Citroën). Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) also has a say since the Belgian is only 2”3 behind the Nordic drivers. Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) remains in ambush even if its delay is now measured at around twelve seconds.

Kris Meeke remains in 6th place but the Northern Irishman remains under pressure since Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai) follows him by less than 2 seconds. Pontus Tidemand (M-Sport) remains in 8th place.

Ole Christian Veiby (Volkswagen) remains at the head of the WRC 2 Pro by occupying 9th place with 12 seconds ahead of Jari Huttunen (Skoda). Mads Ostberg (Citroën) occupies 12th place, one second behind Emil Lindholm (Volkswagen), still leading the WRC 2 Pro.

The crews will still have three stages including the Power Stage to decide between this Sunday. The Swedish Rally can be followed live with our live text.
