Tänak manages his lead in Argentina, Meeke falls

Ott Tänak (Toyota) seems untouchable at rally from Argentina. The Estonian signed two new scratches in the second pass of the second stage and returns to the service park with a lead of more than 46 seconds over Thierry Neuville (Hyundai).

Fighting for second position against the Belgian, Kris Meeke (Citroën) lost more than two minutes in SS15, the 40km of Cuchilla Nevada – Rio Pintos, due to a puncture. The Northern Irishman fell to eighth place more than half a minute behind Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) while his teammate Craig Breen retired at midday, safety bar hit after a rollover.

Kris Meeke's misfortunes allow Dani Sordo (Hyundai) to get back on the provisional podium. Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) now occupies fourth place but remains under pressure from Andreas Mikkelsen who is less than 15 seconds behind the Ford. Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) follows in sixth place, almost half a minute from the Top 5.

Kalle Rovanperä (Skoda) remains at the top of the WRC 2 by occupying tenth place in the general classification behind Teemu Suninen (M-Sport). His teammate Pontus Tidemand is 23 seconds behind, but the Swede admitted that he had to respect team instructions.
