Ott Tänak (Toyota) is now isolated at the head of the Rally of Sweden at the end of the second passage of the second stage. The Estonian almost doubled his lead by signing two new stage wins to relegate Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) almost a minute away.
The Norwegian is under pressure since three drivers follow him within a dozen seconds. Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) made a good comeback to move to third place, less than 2 seconds behind the Scandinavian. The Finn has a little more than 2 seconds ahead of Thierry Neuville (Hyundai). The Belgian made up for it in an impressive high-speed spin on the last course.

Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) had a more difficult afternoon. The Welshman now completes the Top 5 but remains 8 seconds behind Thierry Neuville.
Kris Meeke (Toyota) remains stuck in 6th place without managing to set the pace of the leaders. The Northern Irishman saved his position on the road in the final stage for a half-second lead over Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai).
Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) was in 8th position at the end of SS14, but the Finn had to retire with an injured rollbar. The former leader of the event at the start of the stage lost control of his Ford in the last special and hit a tree. His teammate Pontus Tidemand recovers 8th place.

Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) deliberately clocked in late at the start of the second pass to benefit from a better position on the road. The reigning WRC champion came close to disaster in Vargasen, narrowly avoiding a tree.
