Tänak takes off at Rally Chile

Ott Tänak (Toyota) a signé le scratch dans les deux spéciales de nouveau traversées dans la première étape du Rally from Chile. 6 seconds ahead of Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) at the service, the Estonian has 23 seconds on the six-time champion WRC before the super special which will close the day.

Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) climbed onto the provisional podium with a little more than 2 seconds ahead of Thierry Neuville (Hyundai), le Belge ayant davantage souffert du balayage dans le second passage.

Kris Meeke (Toyota) still occupies 5th place, but the Northern Irishman sees Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai) revenir rapidement dans ses rétros. Avec deux deuxièmes meilleurs temps d’affilée, le nonuple champion du monde n’est plus qu’à 4 secondes de la deuxième Yaris WRC après avoir repris Elfyn Evans (M-Sport).

The gap is made in the peloton since Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) is ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) by a second, being more than 2 minutes behind the leader of the race. Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) still completes the Top 10.

It is now Kalle Rovanperä (Skoda) who occupies the lead in WRC 2 Pro, as well as 11th position in the general classification, ahead of Mads Ostberg (Citroën) by less than 3 seconds.
