The 2022 season of WRC can be summed up in the clear domination of a Kalle Rovanperä. At just 22 years and 1 day old, the Finn made World Rally Championship history by becoming youngest champion thus capping the crown Ott Tänak two rounds from the final whistle.
It must be said that in 2022 Kalle Rovanperä has shown itself to be intractable with the competition.
« They were strong and Kalle was just as strong, deplores Ott Tänak when taking stock of the duel against Toyota and the recent world champion. I don't think they really gave us a chance. We thought we could fight back in the middle of the season, but they had everything under control actually. We weren't really close.
In the end, they beat everyone, without the slightest doubt (…) Kalle was truly fighting with himself and no one else. His whole team did a great job beating everyone this year, but Kalle was really strong. » Between world champions we respect each other.
