Tänak winner in style in Chile

Ott Tänak (Toyota) a remporté une victoire amplement méritée au Rally of Chile for the first trip of WRC in this country. The Estonian managed his lead in the last stage before launching the full attack in the Power Stage and claiming bonus points from the last special. He scored his second victory of the season after Sweden and the 8th of his WRC career.

The last day was animated by the duel for second place between Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) and Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai) regroupés en 5 secondes au soir de la deuxième étape. Le champion en titre a préservé sa position en devançant l’Alsacien de 7 secondes à l’arrivée.

M-Sport réalise un beau tir groupé avec Elfyn Evans et Teemu Suninen qui complètent le Top 5 devant Esapekka Lappi (Citroën). Le Finlandais sur la C3 WRC semblait parti pour signer le temps référence dans la Power Stage avant de partir en tête-à-queue. Il devance Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) et Kris Meeke (Toyota) qui a repris la 8e sur le dernier parcours.

Kalle Rovanperä (Skoda) finished 9th, winning the WRC 2 Pro ahead of Mads Ostberg (Citroën). Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) ranks just outside the Top 10. Takamoto Katsuta (Ford) won in WRC 2.

After Thierry Neuville's crash (Hyundai), Sébastien Ogier is the new championship leader with ten points ahead of Ott Tänak. The Belgian slips to 3rd place, two points behind the Estonian. Hyundai retains the lead in the Manufacturers ranking with 29 points ahead of Toyota.
