Teemu Suninen confirmed for eight rounds with M-Sport Ford

The Finnish media reported last week that an agreement between M-Sport Ford and Teemu Suninen to play eight rounds of the WRC 2018 on the third Ford Fiesta WRC entered by Malcolm Wilson's team.

The Dovenby Hall structure has confirmed that the young Finnish hopeful will be lined up in Sweden, Mexico, Portugal, Sardinia, Finland, Turkey, Wales Rally GB and Spain on the car with the blue oval.

The announcement of the program for the 2 WRC-2016 runner-up, which Malcolm Wilson would not be surprised to see play “a podium or two” allows M-Sport Ford to partially complete the program for its third car, which has not yet been confirmed for Germany, Argentina and Australia.

The Frenchman Bryan Bouffier will indeed ride in the third Ford at the Rally Monte-Carlo and the Tour de Corsica. Suninen, for his part, will compete in the Monaco opening in a Ford Fiesta R5, just like Germany next August.

« It will be a great season for us and I am very happy with my program for 2018, admits Suninen. The highlight will of course be the eight rallies with the Ford Fiesta WRC with M-Sport Ford World Rally Team where I think we have a good opportunity to prove our potential.

The plan is to start these rallies in a relaxed state of mind. There is no “all or nothing” and no need to focus on our championship position. We're just going to take it rally by rally and get the most out of each event. »
