Teemu Suninen leads the British shakedown

Contested over 3,37 km, the shakedown of Wales Rally GB smiled on Teemu Suninen this Thursday morning in Wales who took the advantage at the very end of the session ahead of the trio made up of Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport Ford), Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) et Elfyn Evans (M-Sport Ford).

The first pass saw Latvala and Evans quickly set the reference time in 2’01″4, ahead of the Citroën C3 by Craig Breen. If no one seems to be able to improve on the following passages, Sébastien Ogier finally equals the time of the Finn and the Briton on his fifth passage.

Teemu Suninen finally came to improve the absolute best time in 2’01″2, two tenths ahead of the Ogier – Latvala – Evans trio.

Craig Breen suit à trois dixièmes, suivi par la première Hyundai i20 Thierry Neuville and Mads Ostberg (Citroën). Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) and Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) complete the top 10 with Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai).

Ott Tänak (Toyota), winner of the last three events in WRC, had a rough morning with a road trip on his first pass. Spectators intervened to free the Yaris WRC stuck in a ditch. The Estonian sets the 11th time.

Wales Rally GB will begin this Thursday afternoon with the first SS (Tir Prince), scheduled for 20 p.m.
