Thierry Neuville first leader in Mexico

Co-leader du championnat du monde avec Elfyn Evans (Toyota), Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) was faster than the two brief special stages opening the route of the Rally from Mexico Thursday evening.

The Belgian took control of the race by dominating Elfyn Evans twice, to have after the two SS 1″1 lead over the Gazoo Racing driver.

Ott Tänak (Hyundai) suit en troisième position à 1″9 devant la première Ford Fiesta – M-Sport Ford de Teemu Suninen, pointé à 2″. Suivent Dani Sordo (Hyundai) à 2″3, Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) at 2″5, Gus Greensmith (M-Sport Ford) and Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota) at 4″ and Esapekka Lappi (M-Sport Ford), victim of contact with the wall in SS1, at 4″6 for the peloton WRC.

Engaged in WRC 3, Olvier Solberg (Volkswagen Polo GTi R5) dominated RC2 against Pontus Tidemand (Skoda Fabia R5), leader in WRC 2, and Ole Christian Veiby (Hyundai i20 R5).

Note that Ken Block, entered in a Ford Escort RS Cosworth, experienced ignition problems with his engine, and lost more than 20″.
