The traditional Guanajuato special and its tunnels allowed Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) to take control of the Rally from Mexico after the first SS of this third round of the WRC 2018.
Le pilote belge a bouclé les 2,53 km contre le chrono en 2’06″7 et s’offre un premier scratch de l’autre côté de l’Atlantique. Neuville précède la Toyota YarisOtt Tänak, ahead of 1″9 and la Ford Fiesta – M-Sport Ford of Sébastien Ogier, third at 2″.
The Toyota Yaris of Jari-Matti Latvala and Esapekka Lappi follow in the standings, the latter not appearing to be hampered by the suspension problem encountered during the shakedown earlier yesterday after contact.
Next in the standings are Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai), Kris Meeke (Citroën), best shakedown time, Dani Sordo (Hyundai), Elfyn Evans (M-Sport Ford) and Sébastien Loeb (Citroen) which enters the top 10 at 4″7.
Teemu Suninen (M-Sport Ford) completes the WRC field in eleventh position and precedes Pontus Tidemand (Skoda), first in WRC-2. The Rally of Mexico will resume this Friday from 17:33 p.m. French time, and will be followed live with our live text.
