Toyota confirms its line-up, Latvala promoted to Team Principal

The four-time world rally champion has been appointed sports advisor at Toyota. The role of Team Principal was entrusted to another former driver, and one from the house at that: Jari-Matti Latvala.

He was chosen by Akio Toyoda, president of Toyota, for “ bring your pilot expertise » to the management team composed in particular by Yuichiro Haruna, project director, Kaj Lindström, sports director, and Tom Fowler, technical director.

« I am honored to take on this role within the team and by the trust shown by Akio Toyoda, indicated Jari-Matti Latvala. I am happy to be able to continue the work started with Tommi (Mäkinen).”

Additionally, Toyota announced its line-up for next season. Unsurprisingly, the reigning world champion Sébastien Ogier, Elfyn Evans and Kalle Rovanpëra have been confirmed. Big news, Takamoto Katsuta will also do the entire 2021 campaign at the wheel of the Yaris WRC.
