L’équipe double championne du monde en titre se dévoile. Trois jours après son principal concurrent Hyundai, Toyota a dévoilé sa voiture pour la saison 2023 de WRC : the GR Yaris Rally1. If the livery remains essentially the same as that used in 2022, the Japanese team's mount receives several major developments compared to its predecessor.
Reworked aerodynamics, particularly on the sides of the car with smaller air intakes and an entirely new rear wing, and an evolved engine with more torque come to equip the 2023 version of the Yaris Rally1. She will make her debut during the Rally Monte-Carlo, from January 19 to 22.

On board the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1, in 2023 we will find an (almost) unchanged crew. World champion Kalle Rovanperä and co-driver Jonne Halttunen will defend their title with the Japanese team, retaining their number 69. Elfyn Evans and Takamoto Katsuta will complete the line-up this season for the Jyväskylä (Finland)-based outfit, while Sébastien Ogier will do a partial program as in 2022.
“We are confident in the car we field this season, said Tom Fowler, technical director of Toyota Gazoo Racing, for the WRC website. We have found gains in performance and reliability while continuing the work to evolve this car initiated last year. I believe we have a car that will be able to compete with any of our rivals. »
