In Hangar-7, the Toyota Gazoo Racing, represented by team manager Kaj Lindtröm, has lifted the veil on the car which will be entered in the 13 rounds on the calendar this season. Drawing heavily on the car decoration seen in recent months, the Toyota stands out more for its aerodynamic kit than for its colors. As with the other Rally1s, the Yaris appears more “wise”, because it lacks the small fins that had developed on the front and because the rear wing is less bulky.
What also changes is the large air intake on the side of the vehicle will be responsible for cooling the hybrid cell. In Austria, two brand absences were noted, that of Sébastien Ogier and that of Esapekka Lappi. These two drivers will share the wheel of Toyota's third Rally1 while Elfyn Evans/Scott Martin and Kalle Rovanperä/Jonne Halttunen will be present throughout the next 11 months. Takamoto Katsuta/Aaron Johnston will also have a full program.
